Do you really believe the rest of the world can’t survive without the US (read full question and details)?
The world make most of what we in the US buys, we don’t contribute much at all to the world economy other then consuming goods and then selling them our debt.
Even now, basic services are being moved over to India. We like to borrow everything, we don’t make much in this country anymore, even our car companies like Chrysler and GM will be going out of business next year because they will run out of cash. The US contributes to the global society by consuming, not saving and really making goods like other countries throughout the world.
Once the world stops allowing the US to borrow everything (let’s face it, the US probably will never pay them back) that the world makes, the US will suffer tremendously, the dollar will collapse, and the US will have to start producing goods in tremendous quantities again (before that of course, there will be a lot of pain, suffering, and civil unrest) while the other countries in the world like China increase their living standards and have better lifestyles. They built themselves a better lifestyle by saving and not over consuming into deficits.
Basically, the US and China will eventually switch roles, the US will be supplying countries with cheap goods will the Chinese will have the lifestyle of borrowing like the US does now.
We are losing the US and eventually, well, we will go bankrupt.
Why do people not see this?
We have a 70 Billion dollar trade deficit every month.
This is real, it’s not supposed be all “everything is fine, don’t worry about anything.”
In today’s economy, the US isn’t needed.
Once it starts making goods and being a productive country in the world again, it will be needed.
